On October 5th, the three-day European Utility Week (EUW) came to a close at the RAI Conference Center in Amsterdam, Netherlands. EUW is the premier business, innovation and information platform connecting the smart utility community, experts from utilities, network operators, vendors, consultants, startups and system integrators gathered for the event. SIMCom, as an enterprise that has been working in the field of wireless communication modules for many years, attended the event with a typical NB-IoT/eMTC/GPRS/GNSS module: SIM7000 series, which was well received in the exhibition.
SIMCom Sales Director Jose Garcia Discussing with Customers on SIMCom Booth
As is known to all, NB-IoT is the hot topic of Internet of Things, the development of NB-IoT/eMTC in the European market is also very fast. According to the GSMA report in May, there are 39 NB-IoT/eMTC pilots around the world, including 21 pilots in Europe. The SIM7000E module is dedicated for European market. It is Tri-Band LTE-FDD and Dual-Band GPRS/EDGE module solution in a SMT type which supports LTE CAT-M1(eMTC) and NB-IoT up to 375kbps data transfer. The dimension is 24 X 24 X 2.6mm and weight is 3.0g. It has strong extension capability with rich interfaces including UART, USB2.0, GPIO etc. The module provides much flexibility and ease of integration for customer's application. The package of SIM7000E is compatible with SIM900 and SIM800F. AT commands of SIM7000E are mostly compatible with SIM800F. This also maximizes the investments of customers, and enables a short time-to-market. And SIM7000E-N is NB-IoT only module for European market.
Global NB-IoT/eMTC Pilots
The SIM7000 series has already completed the network test with multiple Tier 1 operators at home and abroad, and the table is the ongoing test. It provides a unique combination of performance, security and flexibility and is an ideal solution for a variety of IoT and M2M verticals requiring longer battery life, lower cost, and mobility. Verticals such as smart metering, smart home, smart city, smart cars, smart energy, asset tracking, wireless POS, E-health, agriculture, security are but a few.
